This is a tool designed for active, open cases with high dollar prescription expenses, drug abuse, and/or overutilization. The report will include a Pharmacist or Pain Management Specialist’s narrative that outlines the treatment course and prior drug utilization history. The current medication regimen versus the recommended prescription drug plan with medical, pharmacotherapy and clinical justifications are provided in the report and clearly outlined in a side by side comparative spreadsheet. G&L will contact the current provider and review the report for their endorsement.

Settlement Prescription Forecast (SPF)

This product is designed for claims that have historically high prescription costs/utilization and are being considered for settlement, but for which Medicare approval is not indicated. The report will project future lifetime drug costs based upon long-term pharmacotherapy established by a Pharmacist and RN review. The report outlines recommendations for future drug needs, providing the explanation/rationale for the anticipated changes in the treatment regimen and includes a detailed spreadsheet with annual drug cost, the anticipated lifetime total drug costs, the suggested future prescription drug regimen, and the lifetime totals. The report, in narrative form, will include clear justifications for reductions. It will include a separate cover sheet that compares historical annual averages to recommended annual amounts.

Settlement Care Plan (SCP)

The SCP is a powerful tool designed to expedite the claim review/file preparation time for an upcoming settlement conference or mediation and to address an appropriate medical value on settlements that do not require Medicare approval. It applies cost focused Life Care Planning principles to provide an independent, third party evaluation of the actual total medical and prescription drug value of a claim.

A narrative report is produced providing an overview of the injury and treatment course. This report outlines future care needs and also provides the rationale/medical explanation for reductions or changes in the future treatment from the current regimen.

A spreadsheet is provided that lists annual cost for medical care and prescriptions. The report will show a comparison of the historical costs against the anticipated expenses established in the SCP based upon standard age.

Upon your notification to G&L that the case has met your internal threshold for a structured settlement, G&L will forward the required documentation to your designated Structure Settlement Broker to generate an annuity quote for you.
